Affiliate Program Participation

Foam is committed to creating resources that help you learn how to surf or improve your surfing, appreciate the beauty and power of the sea, and discover new travel destinations around the globe. As part of our content creation process, we occasionally include contextual links to relevant products, services, or experiences that we feel could be useful to our readers.

All products are independently selected and trusted to be a good fit for the Foam brand. We only link to products that we personally use and/or believe have value to our readers, regardless of our affiliate partnerships.

We participate in the Amazon Associates and Avantlink affiliate programs, and may receive a commission if you buy something at the retailer’s website through one of the links we provide. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Privacy

Cookies

Foam uses “cookies,” which are small text files placed on your computer, to uniquely identify users for post comments and server log files. We may use both “session cookies,” which expire when you close your browser, and “persistent cookies,” which stay in your browser until deleted, to provide you with a more personalized experience on our website. No personal information is stored in these cookies and they are used only to identify a user’s computer for the purposes of managing comments and preventing unauthorized or illegal activity on our website and server.

Data Protection

Foam has implemented measures designed to secure your email address and other personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us through contact forms and email subscription boxes are transmitted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not 100 percent secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our website. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk.

Email Lists

Foam uses an email marketing service provided by MailerLite, Inc., 548 Market St, PMB 98174, San Francisco, CA 94104-5401 (“MailerLite”). MailerLite collects email addresses from our readers when they elect to subscribe to email delivery from our website.

Readers may unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link located at the bottom of our mass communication emails. We do not, and will not, sell, rent, or distribute our email lists to third parties unless required by law. View MailerLite’s privacy policy for information on how they store and handle your data.

Affiliate Partnerships

Foam partners with Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and AvantLink to promote or recommend products that these affiliate programs provide. We embed customized referral links, provided by the affiliate programs, into our website to track visits to our affiliate partners’ websites. If you click on an affiliate link, a small text file called a “cookie” will be stored in your browser by the affiliate program to track any sales for the purpose of assigning commissions.

Foam has no control over these third-party cookies and does not store any personal information collected by our affiliates when you use their websites. Please see the following privacy policies for additional information on how your data is handled by our affiliates: Amazon Privacy Notice, AvantLink Privacy Policy.

If a parent or guardian believes that our website has personally identifiable information of a child under the age of 13 in our database, please contact us immediately at linda@foammagazine.com and we will use our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

User Tracking

In order to optimize our website, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies,” which are small text files placed on your computer, to help us analyze how you use our website, including but not limited to the date and time of your visit, operating system, browser type, referring website, and pages viewed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

We automatically enable IP anonymization on our website so that your IP address will be truncated by Google within the EU member states or EEA member states to prevent users from being identified. Only in exceptional cases will the IP address be transferred to Google on a server in the United States and thereafter be truncated.

On behalf of Foam, Google will use this information for the purpose of compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. The IP address that was transmitted by your browser will not be combined by Google with any other data. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website.

You may also prevent the collection and processing of the data that was generated by the cookie (and that is related to the use of our website, including your IP address) by downloading and installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
