You’d be surprised how many people suffer from anxiety. It can be downright debilitating for some and leading a normal lifestyle can in fact be a constant struggle. There are medications and meditation, but we like to incorporate as much DIYs into our lives as possible and if it includes glitter, BRING IT ON! We came across these mind-calming glitter jars one day and knew it was something that would be worth a try. We were surprised to learn that it’s surprisingly therapeutic. Things you will need:
A mason jar
A considerable amount of glitter
A stirring utensil
Heat the water to fill up the Mason Jar. We microwaved our water for 2 minutes, you want it to be hot but not boiling.
Pour the hot water into the mason jar, leaving some room at the top for glitter and glue.
Pour the clear glue into the hot water. The more glue you use, the slower the glitter will fall. You can always add more as you go. A good rule of thumb is keeping it 20% glue, 80% glitter.
Add as much glitter as your heart desires. Blue and silver works best for the tranquility properties of the colors, but if you want some fun in there, you can always add shaped glitter or even a smaller amount of colored glitter. Too much color can distract the eye, so watch out! Stir well, so the glitter can fall to the bottom, then keep adding more until you are satisfied with the consistency!
Close the lid and give it a shake, if you are satisfied with the amount of glitter than you can superglue the lid on. If not, keep adding more. Need more DIY steps? This would be a good time to decorate your lid like below.
