I travel a lot for the holidays, a lot. Not only do I fly across the country to see my family but each day I am bouncing from house to house, city to city. So much movement can definitely put a halt to my ‘Jenny Time’. My sleeping pattern gets turned upside down and my normal exercise routine is almost non-existent. Getting creative and making time for exercise during the holidays not only keeps me balanced with those big meals and yummy treats, but also helps me keep my sanity.

With obligations to visit so many people, please please please do not forget to make time for yourself. Here are some ideas that I am sure to make time for so that my smile keeps shining bright through the holidays!

1. Use those Groupons (…and Living Socials/Travelzoos/Bloomspots, etc). It’s pretty difficult for me to roll out my yoga mat in my parent’s living room with a house full of cousins and the puppy licking my face whenever I go into downward facing dog. These discount websites constantly have local yoga studios/nail salons/massage therapists offering great deals. Treat yourself and enjoy!

2. Take a stroll and admire the neighborhood. My parents live on the East Coast and I love being able to bundle up and go for a walk out in the cold (a nice change from LA weather!). Say hi to your neighbors that pass by and pick out the house with the tackiest holiday decorations.

3. Wake up early and enjoy your cup of tea in a silent house. Grab the newspaper or a book, cozy up by the window and enjoy the silence

Please share any tips you might have… and Good Luck!
