Tala Kolb: Bathing News
Bathing News’ Tala Kolb can’t remember a time when she hasn’t been utterly obsessed with the beach.
When did you first get into swimwear?
Tala Kolb: It’s always been there. I don’t remember when I started to speak English and so I don’t remember when I first became obsessed with swimwear.
What inspires you the most?
My inspiration comes mostly from traveling and all the different colors around. It’s one of my favorite things to do. And my childhood, hanging out with friends and family. I find inspiration in things that aren’t really related to swimwear, but that represent it for me. Having watermelon with family and pool days.
How would you describe your style and your blog to the uninitiated?
My personal style is pretty kick-back. California girl, in a bikini. I get stressed out when it’s cold because I think, ‘Oh my god what am I going to wear?’ Someone once described me as the high fashion bikini girl, so that’s me.
What style icons inspire you?
This might be weird, but I love Johnny Depp. He really is my style icon, even though he’s a guy. And a lot of inspiration comes from the first and second Blue Lagoon. That is one of my major inspirations, no joke. That’s my zone, that’s my world. I know the movie sucks, but I love it. I love their outfits.
So you watch a lot a movies?
I get made fun of that I’m obsessed. But yes and they’re all beach related. I love Gidget, I love a lot of Bridget Bardot’s beach movies. I could really go on and on.
