Mixtape Masters: Beach Day Makes Us A Playlist!
We got a FOAM-approved band to curate a playlist exclusively for you—because we asked nicely.
Oh boy, we can tell Beach Day had summer on the brain when making this playlist for us—and, well, pretty much all of their music. The '60s-inspired surf band from Hollywood, Florida, offers swoonsome girl-group melodies over amped-up garage-rock pacing, and their debut, Trip Trap Attack, comes out tomorrow on Kanine Records. It'll sound perfect whether you're splashing around by the beach, digging for clothes of yesteryear in your local vintage boutique or just cruising with the windows down.
The trio claims "having fun" as a common drive for making music, and you can definitely hear it on their sun-kissed record—as well as on the playlist they made just for us. It's full of the bands that inspire their sound: The Shangri-Las, Black Lips and The Beach Boys. You can listen to it below, and check out Beach Day's percussive, self-titled single at SoundCloud.
