Sisters Elizabeth and Isabella live a fairytale life designing for their fashion and accessories label, Spell and the Gypsy Collective. Based in Byron Bay, New South Wales, the pair grew up learning their trade from their leather craftsman father and artist mother, a tradition which led Isabella to create a label inspired by her childhood nickname. She began selling handmade jewelry at local markets, and her collection took flight months later, leading to the sisters' current offering of fashion, accessories, home goods and children's clothing often featuring feathers, leather and turquoise as well as materials such as shells and bone, crystals, silk and cotton. We caught up with Isabella to learn more about the sisters' personal style and source of inspiration:

What inspires you most?
Imagery from our childhood.
Your favorite words to live by?
Our mother always said, “Follow your feelings,” and our dad said, “Stay quiet in your inner.” They were real children of the '60s. We’ve always tried to live by those.
A dream you haven’t fulfilled yet (but will someday)?
Live like Robinson Crusoe on a deserted island with nothing but my partner and my son.
Jewelry piece you can’t live without right now?
Our Thunderstruck Crystal chest plate— I’m addicted to vintage rocker tees at the moment and this necklace works perfectly with them!
Best item in your closet?
A neon pink zebra and floral print kimono I designed five years ago; I can throw it on over anything.
Describe the outfit you feel most confident in.
At the moment it’s my One Teaspoon shorts and any one of my many oversized vintage tees with a bunch of our jewellery and a tasseled bag.
Best thing about where you live?
Where do I start? Probably living in a small community while being surrounded by so many incredibly creative souls! You can’t turn around without being inspired.
Five must-have items?
A pair of One Teaspoon shorts, a tasseled handbag (vintage or new, it doesn’t matter), a statement necklace to pair with a tatty tee, a battered-up pair of studded ankle boots (or a pair of Havaianas), and one of our new tasseled kimonos.
In an alternate reality, you'd be a....
Child of the '60s.
