Anne Parker and Christie MacLean met at work four years ago, where they quickly bonded over their love of traveling, summer, and growing up in the country. Anne is from rural Oregon, where she was raised with a big garden and lots of chickens and taught herself to cook. Christie grew up in small town New England. She has driven across the country multiple times, and has been to all but two states. This month, the Summer Goals bloggers share their travels with FOAM:
"We ended last summer with a camping trip to Central Oregon for Labor Day weekend at Smith Rock State Park. Without any sort of plan, we spent the days driving down dirt roads in search of the perfect swimming hole. Because we had Oregon's Swimming Holes guidebook in the glove box, we found countless rivers, lakes, and streams to jump into.
The rainy season in Portland lasts throughout the spring, but lately we've had occasional breaks of sun peeking through the clouds. Cherry trees are blossoming which is a sure sign that better weather is not too far away.
This time two years ago, on an unseasonably warm day, we made a list of things to do that summer. Excitement grew, and we created a blog called Summer Goals, and the following year turned it into a book of the same name.
As we look back through our photos from last summer, we are getting excited for drier days to plan picnics and river trips in the coming months."
