For New York Fashion Week Fall 2012, makeup artists reached deep down in their (beauty) bag of tricks to pull out some classic standbys and some fresh makeup trends you can wear this fall— or test out tonight! Here, our six favorite looks from Rodarte, Thakoon, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang and more:
Australian Sun
Laura and Kate Mulleavy's fall collection was inspired by girls caught in a sandstorm in the Australian outback, so it was only natural the models were dusted with bronze and pink powders, applied with a heavy hand to cheeks and eyelids.
Gemstone Hues
Sultry and a little unexpected, it's time to give gemstone shadows another go. This time, try bright emerald greens and ruby reds.
Bright Lids
Bold colors ruled the runway and models at Anna Sui were even given dots on the bottom lid. The look is fun, sporty just a little futuristic— excuse us while we re-watch the Fifth Element for more inspiration.
All Natural
This is one trend here to stay! Create the illusion of flawless skin accentuated by defined brows and sharp cheekbones.
Coral-Red Lips
Orange-based, matte lip color looks younger than more blue-hued reds. We love the little reminder of summer, too!
Voluminous Ponies
Whether models were sporting '60s-inspired boufant tops or slick, nape-of-the-neck styles, all of fall's ponytails had one thing in common: volume, volume, volume!
